As previously announced, Hong Kong Disneyland is getting a new land themed to the inescapable animated film Frozen in 2021, and the D23 Expo parks panel revealed more details of what’s to come.
The big attraction will be a coaster called Wandering Oaken’s Sliding Sleighs. The attraction will begin at Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post and Sauna and then Olaf and Sven will pull the ride vehicle, a sleigh, to top of the lift to begin a journey through Arendelle. It looks like it should be a fun experience that could be similar to Seven Dwarfs Mine Train.
The land’s second attraction will be Frozen Ever After. Yep, the attraction you can find in Norway Pavilion at Epcot. It’s not clear how it will be different from Florida’s version, but it should be at least a little different since Hong Kong won’t be retrofitting a previously existing attraction.
In addition to the details of the Frozen-themed land, Parks Chairman Bob Chapek also shared a new concept art image of the reimagined castle themed to 13 Disney princesses and heroines. It now has a name which is Castle of Magical Dreams.
The castle will be home to a new nighttime spectacular as well as, of course, a Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique. It is expected to be completed in 2020 in time for the park’s 15th anniversary.
