As Pixar Pier mostly opens this weekend at Disney’s California Adventure, Bing Bong’s Sweet Stuff won’t open until later this summer, the Disneyland Resort has finally confirmed that an Inside Out attraction will come to the western end of the pier in 2019.
While Disneyland didn’t confirm this with the announcement, the attraction is clearly a re-themed version of Flik’s Flyers. That attraction will close when A Bug’s Land takes its final bow later this summer. When it re-opens next year on the pier it’ll be called Inside Out Emotional Whirlwind.
The concept art show the attraction bookended by vibrant purple racks which house memory balls like those seen in the film. It’s certainly going to add another splash of color to an already more colorful pier.
The attraction will live where the Maliboomer used to be. The DCA 1.0 attraction closed in 2010. The Whirlwind was present in early concept art for Pixar Pier (look in the top right corner of the image below).
Are you excited to see this attraction move to its new home next year?
